iPad teleprompter with AirPods

Guide the prompt.

AirPods are optional for ordinary prompting. In a video call with iPhone Companion, they keep remote voices private so the nearby iPhone follows only your delivery.

Four AdLibly device setups including iPad, AirPods and iPhone Companion

You do not need AirPods for every presentation

When AdLibly runs by itself on iPhone or iPad, the device can listen directly and AirPods are optional. They become especially useful when a meeting app and AdLibly share an iPad through iPhone Companion.

Why video calls are different

Teams, Zoom or Google Meet may use the iPad microphone for the call. A nearby iPhone can then listen locally for AdLibly. If the iPad plays the meeting through its speakers, the iPhone may also hear remote participants. AirPods keep that audio in your ears so the Companion follows your voice.

A practical arrangement: meeting and prompt on iPad, AirPods connected to iPad, and iPhone Companion placed nearby with its microphone unobstructed.

Four useful setups

  • iPhone or iPad by itself for a simple presentation.
  • iPad with AirPods for private audio.
  • iPhone Companion with iPad when the iPad microphone is busy.
  • iPhone Companion, iPad and AirPods for a video call.

See the detailed Microsoft Teams setup, the Zoom setup, or all four arrangements in the Present anywhere section.
